Senator Risa Hontiveros has urged the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to cancel the passport of religious leader Apollo Quiboloy, citing his persistent evasion from Senate and court appearances.

Hontiveros emphasized that Quiboloy's actions should not be tolerated but should instead prompt the government to intensify efforts to restrict his movements.

Amid conflicting reports on Quiboloy's whereabouts, Hontiveros expressed concern over potential intelligence failures, stating, "Iba iba rin ang natatanggap na Balita kung nandito pa siya sa Bansa o Di kaya'y nakatakas na sa ibang Bansa." She highlighted the gravity of the accusations against Quiboloy, which transcend boundaries and nationalities, expressing confidence in international cooperation to hold him accountable, especially since several victim-survivors who testified in Senate hearings are foreign nationals.

Drawing a parallel to the apprehension of a congressperson facing charges, Hontiveros emphasized that a religious leader should not escape justice, asserting, "Kung ang Puganteng kongresista ay nahuli sana naman ay mahuli narin ang isang Puganteng Religious Leader. Maliit ang mundo hindi niya matatakasan ang batas Habambuhay." She underscored the importance of upholding the rule of law, affirming that Quiboloy cannot evade accountability indefinitely.
