Former Philippine Senator Antonio "Sonny" Trillanes IV has alleged that investigators from the International Criminal Court (ICC) have directly reached out to more than 50 current and former officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP) regarding their alleged involvement in the crimes against humanity case against President Rodrigo Duterte.

Trillanes, Duterte's vocal critic, made the statement during a press conference. He emphasized the gravity of the situation, indicating that failure to cooperate with ICC investigators could lead to serious consequences for those implicated.

"Based on highly credible information, the ICC investigators have already directly communicated with more than 50 active and former PNP officials regarding their being implicated in the crimes against humanity case of Rodrigo Duterte at the ICC," Trillanes said.

He warned that non-cooperation could cause the escalation of their status from persons of interest to suspects in the ongoing investigation. Trillanes highlighted the potential repercussions, including travel restrictions and eventual arrest warrants issued through Interpol.
