President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. reiterated his support for Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte despite demands for her resignation from the Cabinet. Speaking at the Town Hall Consultation with Farmers and Fisherfolks in Occidental Mindoro, President Marcos defended Vice President Duterte's position, stating, "I don’t see the reason behind that."

During his visit to Occidental Mindoro, President Marcos provided cash assistance and support to farmers and fishermen affected by the El Nino phenomenon, while also addressing their concerns. He expressed his intention to meet with Vice President Duterte to discuss crucial matters, indicating confidence in her capabilities.

President Marcos emphasized that Vice President Duterte will retain her role as Education Secretary, stating that cabinet members are only removed if they are inefficient or corrupt. He affirmed, "Any of the cabinet secretaries will be replaced 'pag hindi na nila ginagawa 'yung trabaho nila," highlighting performance as the primary criterion for dismissal.

Furthermore, President Marcos asserted that Vice President Duterte does not require his assurance to maintain her position, stating, "She doesn’t need my assurance. She knows that." He underscored her competence and integrity, emphasizing that inefficiency or corruption are the only grounds for removal from office.
