He revealed that he has accepted the resignation of eighteen (18) Third-Level Officers allegedly involved in illegal drugs activities. This action comes upon the recommendation of the National Police Commission Ad Hoc Advisory Group, which conducted a thorough investigation into the matter.

PNP Chief Benjamin Acorda Jr. personally informed the President about the investigation, which focused on the alleged involvement of 953 Third-Level Officers in illegal drugs activities. In response, these officers had tendered their courtesy resignation during the investigation period.

However, the Ad Hoc Advisory Group recommended the non-acceptance of 935 courtesy resignations and specifically advised the President to accept the resignation of the eighteen (18) named officers, whose identities have been made public by the Presidential Communications Office:

President Marcos Jr. also reaffirmed his commitment to clean up the ranks of the PNP and eradicate the drug problem, which he believes is closely linked to the involvement of some police officials.
