Vice President Sara Duterte expressed her heartfelt gratitude to key allies, including President Ferdinand Marcos Jr and officials from the Marcos administration, for their unwavering support in defending the Office of the Vice President (OVP) amidst allegations and attacks on the 2022 Confidential Fund (CF). In a recent statement, she extended her appreciation to individuals who stood by her side during this challenging time.

VP Duterte commended Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin for providing a comprehensive presentation of facts surrounding the 2022 OVP CF. Bersamin clarified that the request, approval, and utilization of the fund did not breach any laws, countering persistent criticisms and accusations.

The Vice President also thanked Secretary Gilbert Teodoro of the Department of National Defense for supporting the establishment of the Vice Presidential Security and Protection Group, which plays a crucial role in maintaining peace and security in the nation.

She applauded him for standing up against those who harbor animosity towards vital institutions. Acknowledging the courage and rationality of Representative Stella Quimbo of the Second District of Marikina, VP Duterte praised her for confronting a group of individuals skilled in fabricating falsehoods.

Quimbo's efforts were pivotal in countering the narrative propagated by Rep. France Castro and the Makabayan bloc in Congress regarding the 2022 OVP CF. In response to Senator Risa Hontiveros, who has drawn attention with her dramatic gestures, VP Duterte commented on the lack of evidence to substantiate claims of illegal access to the 2022 OVP CF.

She deemed the allegations baseless and asserted that the dignity of Congress and the Senate had been compromised by these unfounded accusations. VP Duterte concluded her statement by expressing her confidence that the lies peddled by her detractors would eventually lose their allure. She reaffirmed her commitment to the OVP and the Department of Education (DepEd), emphasizing their shared aspiration to better the lives of Filipinos and contribute to the progress of the country.
