Sixteen police officers, including the chief of police of the Dolores Municipal Police Station in Eastern Samar, have been removed from their posts after they were caught drinking inside the police station.

The Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8) said the incident happened on December 15 during the station’s Christmas party. A non-uniformed personnel was also included among those relieved from their positions.

Authorities said the decision to immediately relieve the officers underscores the police leadership’s strict stance against misconduct, especially actions that violate discipline and professionalism within police premises.

The relieved personnel are now expected to face further investigation and possible administrative charges as the review of the incident continues. Officials also reiterated that police stations are expected to maintain the highest standards of conduct at all times, regardless of occasion or celebration.
