As authorities continue their probe into the disappearance of 34 cockfighting enthusiasts, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has placed 60 technical divers on standby for possible deployment in Taal Lake. These highly trained personnel are ready to conduct underwater search and retrieval operations should evidence or developments in the case point toward the lake as a relevant site.

The mobilization of these divers underscores the seriousness of the ongoing investigation, which remains one of the most high-profile and unresolved cases in recent years.

According to the Philippine National Police (PNP), no one will be spared in the search for truth and justice—even if it means implicating high-ranking officials or fellow officers. PNP Spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo emphasized that the institution is committed to pursuing the case without bias or hesitation.

In line with this, the PNP has affirmed its willingness to fully cooperate with the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the PCG as new leads and pieces of information emerge.

The presence of technical divers from the PCG serves both as a precaution and a vital resource. With Taal Lake being a complex and potentially hazardous environment for dive missions, the use of specialized underwater personnel ensures that any operations will be conducted safely and efficiently.
