Hollywood rolled out the red carpet in Los Angeles as the 83rd Golden Globe Awards celebrated the past year’s standout films, television shows, and—for the first time—podcasts. The night highlighted a mix of prestige dramas, crowd-pleasing hits, and a few surprises that kept the ceremony lively.

On the film side, Hamnet emerged as one of the evening’s biggest winners, taking home Best Motion Picture – Drama, while Jessie Buckley earned Best Actress – Drama for her acclaimed performance. The film’s success confirmed its strong standing among awards-season favorites.

Meanwhile, One Battle After Another dominated the musical or comedy category, winning Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy along with major honors for Best Director and Best Screenplay for Paul Thomas Anderson. Teyana Taylor also picked up Best Supporting Actress, further cementing the film’s buzz as one of the year’s most talked-about releases.

Genre films made a strong showing as well. Sinners won the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement Award, with Ludwig Göransson taking Best Original Score. Animated hit KPop Demon Hunters proved unstoppable, winning Best Animated Film and Best Original Song.

In television, Adolescence continued its awards-season momentum, claiming Best Limited Series and multiple acting honors, including wins for Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, and Owen Cooper. Drama fans saw The Pitt take Best Drama Series, with Noah Wyle earning Best Actor, while comedy lovers cheered as The Studio won Best Comedy Series, led by acting wins for Seth Rogen and Jean Smart for Hacks.

One of the night’s biggest additions was a brand-new category honoring podcasts. The inaugural Best Podcast award went to Good Hang with Amy Poehler, marking the Golden Globes’ first step into recognizing audio storytelling.

From sweeping dramas and sharp comedies to animated hits and podcasts, this year’s Golden Globes reflected an entertainment industry that continues to expand its creative boundaries—setting the tone for an unpredictable and exciting awards season ahead.
