It was a bittersweet day as family, friends, and fans gathered to give one last, heartfelt tribute to the one and only Nora Aunor — the beloved Superstar, the National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts.

In a touching ceremony filled with love and deep respect, Nora Aunor was given full military honors before she was laid to rest at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City. It was a fitting farewell for a woman who shaped Philippine arts and culture like no other.

Before her final resting, the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) came together to celebrate her life at a beautiful necrological service at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila.

The program was an emotional journey — filled with music, memories, and moving words. National Artist Ricky Lee, acclaimed director Joel Lamangan, and former media executive Charo Santos-Concio shared heartfelt eulogies, each one painting a vivid picture of Nora’s impact not just on screen, but in the hearts of every Filipino.

Adding to the solemn beauty of the occasion were soul-stirring performances by the Philippine Madrigal Singers, Aicelle Santos-Zambrano, and a powerful duet by Angeline Quinto and Jed Madela — a musical tribute as grand as Nora’s legendary career.

Top officials from both the NCCA, led by Chair Victorino Mapa Manalo and Executive Director Eric Zerrudo, and the CCP, represented by President Kaye Tinga and Board Vice Chair Ma. Carissa Coscolluela, also paid their respects, underscoring just how monumental Nora Aunor’s legacy truly is.

As the final notes faded and the last words of tribute were spoken, one thing was clear: Nora Aunor may have taken her final bow, but her spirit, her artistry, and her love for the Filipino people will echo for generations to come.
