Big news in the world of clean energy and local manufacturing—Allegro MicroSystems Philippines Inc. is now running on 100% renewable energy, and it’s all thanks to its renewed partnership with MPower, the local retail electricity supplier of Meralco.
Allegro, which has been a major player in the semiconductor manufacturing space in Parañaque City, just supercharged its sustainability game by teaming up once again with MPower, a company under the Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Meralco. The two have been partners for over 12 years, and this latest move marks a major milestone in their journey together.
According to Ronald Dela Rosa, Allegro’s Senior Director – Controller, this partnership isn’t just business—it’s built on trust and alignment.
“Together, we’ve weathered periods of both stability and disruption with unwavering alignment and mutual trust,” Dela Rosa shared. “MPower has enabled us to achieve our five-year sustainability target early, accelerating our timeline. This marks a major milestone in our advocacy and stand to lead a more responsible semiconductor manufacturing.”
Allegro’s long-term sustainability goal—originally set for 2030—is already in the bag, thanks to the green push from MPower. Under the renewed Retail Electricity Supply Agreement, Allegro’s facilities will now be fully powered by renewable energy.
On MPower’s side, Redel M. Domingo, First Vice President and Head of MPower, couldn’t be prouder of what the partnership has achieved.
“MPower’s provision of 100% renewable energy has enabled Allegro to realize its 2030 sustainability target at its manufacturing sites ahead of schedule. This success highlights the strength of our partnership and our shared commitment to clean energy transformation.”
Beyond the symbolic win, this collaboration also delivers tangible environmental benefits, including a substantial cut in carbon emissions. It’s a strong example of how local companies can join forces to lead meaningful change in how we power our industries—responsibly and sustainably.
This isn’t just a win for Allegro and MPower. It’s a win for clean energy advocacy in the Philippines.
