Arnie Teves Faces The Media; Hopes For Quick Resolution To Murder Cases

Former Negros Oriental 3rd District Representative Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr. was presented to the media today by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), as he continues to face multiple murder charges — including the high-profile killing of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo in 2023, as well as other alleged killings dating back to 2019.
Despite the gravity of the charges, Teves remained composed in front of the media and expressed his desire for a speedy trial.
“I hope the case moves quickly, because honestly, if they really work on it, it shouldn't take long. Anyway, I trust my lawyers very well. I just hope the process is fast — so it can finally be over,” he said.
Teves, who was previously expelled from Congress, has long denied involvement in the Degamo assassination but has been linked to it by authorities following months of investigation.
Now under NBI custody, all eyes are on how the legal proceedings will unfold — especially given the national attention surrounding the case and Teves’ own call for a swift resolution.
