'Bati Na Tayo!' - PBBM Ready To Reconnect With VP Sara, Says No Time For Drama

In an exclusive interview with Anthony Taberna, President Bongbong Marcos opened up about possibly mending ties with Vice President Sara Duterte — a move many thought unlikely given their growing political differences.
When asked if he still hopes for reconciliation with the Duterte camp, PBBM didn’t hesitate: “Oo. Ako, ayoko ng gulo. Gusto ko makasundo sa lahat ng tao.”
He added that with all the challenges the country is facing, he doesn’t need more enemies — he needs allies. “Hanggat maaari, ang habol ko yung stability, peaceful para magawa namin yung trabaho namin,” he emphasized.
And in true candid fashion, the President even shared what he’d say if ever he and VP Sara cross paths:
“Bati na tayo!”
It’s a simple line, but it carries the weight of a strained partnership and a shared goal to serve the country. And while things have clearly changed since their 2022 tandem, the President’s openness to working things out sends a message: he’s choosing peace over politics.
On Government Performance: ‘Ang bagal!’
PBBM also admitted there’s still a lot of work to be done — especially when it comes to government efficiency.
“Mabagal talaga,” he confessed. He knows people are frustrated, and he’s frustrated too.
He even joked about it with his wealthy friends, comparing their swift corporate decision-making to the slow, bureaucratic grind of public service.
“Ako nag-uutos, pero ang dami ko pang kailangang kumbinsihin. Sa gobyerno, lahat ‘masyadong maingat.’”
While he acknowledges the importance of checks and balances, the President warned against letting bureaucracy paralyze progress. “Okay lang maging maingat, pero ‘wag naman sobra na hindi na tayo makagalaw,” he said.
So, what happens after the 2025 midterm elections?
That’s the big question. But if there’s one thing clear from the President’s words — he’s doubling down on unity, faster public service, and leaving behind political noise.
Peace, progress, and maybe — just maybe — a political reconciliation.
