The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has expressed its full support for Korean nationals affected by lease disputes within Camp John Hay, Baguio City, who have chosen to pursue legal action against the Sobrepeña-led Camp John Hay Development Corporation (CJHDevCo).

Recognizing the serious concerns raised by members of the Korean community, BCDA reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that the transition process at Camp John Hay remains lawful, transparent, and compassionate. The agency emphasized its continued cooperation with relevant government bodies to provide assistance to all stakeholders—including foreign retirees.

“Our goal is to ensure that affected individuals understand their options clearly and are supported throughout this process,” said BCDA in a statement. “This includes providing translation services and one-on-one consultations to guide stakeholders toward mutually beneficial solutions that comply with Philippine law.”

BCDA emphasized that it respects the right of individuals to seek legal redress and welcomes the involvement of the courts in reviewing these matters. At the same time, the agency reiterated its position: all valid lease agreements that are consistent with the laws of the Philippines and the Supreme Court’s final and executory decision will be honored.

Affected parties who need assistance or clarification are encouraged to reach out to the BCDA Help Desk via email at cjhhelpdesk@bcda.gov.ph or by phone at (+63) 962 534 9397 / (+63) 954 976 8295.

Through this reaffirmation, BCDA underscores its ongoing support not only for legal resolution but also for the fair treatment of all stakeholders involved in the Camp John Hay transition.
