Senator Bong Go just got a big thumbs-up from the Filipino public.
In the latest nationwide survey by research firm Tangere, conducted from May 2 to 3, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go emerged as the most highly rated senator in the 19th Congress. He scored an impressive +60.8% net satisfaction rating—the highest among all incumbent senators—while also receiving the lowest dissatisfaction score. Clearly, many Filipinos appreciate what he’s been doing in office.
Go, who chairs the Senate Committee on Health, expressed heartfelt thanks to the public for their continued support. “Hinding-hindi ko po sasayangin ‘yung pagkakataong ibinigay n’yo po sa akin,” he said. “Magtatrabaho po ako para sa Pilipino.”
Known as “Mr. Malasakit,” Go has built his reputation on bringing help directly to the people—especially through health programs. He was the driving force behind the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019, which set up one-stop shops for medical assistance in public hospitals. Today, there are 167 Malasakit Centers nationwide, helping over 17 million Filipinos access government medical aid.
“Gusto ko pong siguraduhin na ‘pag may nagkasakit sa pamilya, hindi kailangang mamroblema sa hospital bills,” Go shared. “Ang Malasakit Center ay para sa lahat lalo na sa mga walang-wala.”
On top of that, Go has supported the creation of over 700 Super Health Centers around the country. These facilities bring basic health services closer to people living in far-flung areas—especially those who usually struggle to access proper care.
He also helped push for the Regional Specialty Centers Act, a law that sets up specialized medical services in regional DOH hospitals, ensuring more Filipinos can access expert care without needing to travel far.
But Go’s work doesn’t stop at health care.
He’s pushing for a P100 daily minimum wage increase through Senate Bill No. 2534, and he wants better protection for freelance workers via the Freelance Workers Protection Bill. He’s also got bills lined up to support delivery riders, improve temporary job opportunities for displaced workers, and strengthen the agriculture sector through crop insurance and loan condonation programs.
With 17 laws authored, 84 sponsored (including 82 for hospital upgrades), and nearly 190 co-authored or co-sponsored, Go’s legislative track record is hard to ignore.
