After months of anticipation, BTS’s Jimin and Jungkook are officially back from military service. On June 11, the two members were discharged from the 5th Infantry Division Artillery Brigade, marking the end of their service with heartfelt messages and a warm reunion with fans at Yeoncheon Public Stadium.
With bright smiles and visible emotion, Jimin and Jungkook expressed their gratitude to those who patiently waited. Jimin reflected on the time that had passed since their last public appearance, saying, “From the COVID-19 pandemic to our military service, it was quite a long period of time, so thank you so much for waiting. I feel as if we can continue to paint the future we have been drawing, and we will showcase even more improved sides of ourselves.” He added candidly, “It was my first time in the military, and I honestly don’t think it’s an easy place to be.”
Jungkook, known for his sincerity, shared his own feelings about stepping back into the spotlight, saying, “It has been so long since I last stood in front of cameras, and I don’t even have makeup on, so I feel awkward and don’t know what to say.” He also offered a lighthearted comment about their time in service, adding, “The juniors and our peers who were discharged slightly earlier went through a lot because they had to live with us.”
Their return follows the discharge of fellow BTS members RM and V just a day earlier, on June 10. With only Suga left to complete his service—his discharge is set for June 21—the full BTS lineup is nearly complete once again.
As the members gradually return, fans around the world are eagerly looking forward to what’s next for BTS. With Jimin and Jungkook back, it’s clear the group’s next chapter is just around the corner—filled with renewed energy, deeper experience, and the same love that’s defined their journey so far.
