The countdown to BTS’s full return is speeding up, and the excitement just hit a new high—RM and V have officially completed their military service.
On the morning of June 10, RM and V were discharged from their respective units after enlisting back in December 2023. RM served as a part of the 15th Infantry Division Military Army Band, while V took on duties with the II Corps Special Duty Team. As they stepped out of their service roles and back into civilian life, the two idols greeted fans in Chuncheon, smiling brightly—and even treating them to a little music.
In true RM fashion, the BTS leader brought along his saxophone and gave a heartfelt performance of the Case Closed OST, a touching moment that reflected both nostalgia and new beginnings. He later shared a few words about his experience, noting how meaningful his time in the military had been.
“Although there were difficulties [while in the military], I felt that there were many people who had been protecting our country in our stead while we were promoting [as BTS],” RM said. “It was a meaningful time in which I could become closer to other people who have served in the military before. I’m worried for my juniors. I hope to see them again in good health after they endure a bit longer and return to society. Thank you to ARMY who waited. I will work hard as BTS’s RM back in society.”
V, too, spoke about his military experience with sincerity and gratitude. Reflecting on the past months, he said it gave him an opportunity to reconnect with both his body and mind. “I want to sincerely express my gratitude to ARMY who waited. If you wait just a little bit longer, we will return with great performances,” he promised. He also took time to thank the fellow soldiers who supported him during his service, adding, “I’ll work hard as an admirable person back in society.”
As for what’s next? The reunion is almost complete. Jimin and Jungkook are set to be discharged tomorrow, June 11, with Suga following on June 21. That means it won’t be long now before all seven members are back—and fans around the world are ready to welcome them with open arms.
ARMY, the long wait is finally nearing its end.
