Camille Villar Cleared Of Vote-Buying Allegations: 'Truth Has Prevailed'

Senatorial candidate Camille Villar can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
In a statement released recently, Villar shared that the Committee on Kontra Bigay has officially dismissed the vote-buying allegations against her, citing lack of basis. The committee reviewed her response to the Show Cause Order and found her explanation, along with supporting documents, sufficient to clear her name.
“I am pleased to share that the Committee on Kontra Bigay has dismissed the vote-buying allegations against me for lack of basis,” Villar said. “From the very beginning, I stood firm that no laws were broken.”
At the center of the issue was an event held on February 9, 2025, just two days before the start of the official campaign period for senatorial candidates. Critics claimed it was a political event disguised as a network promo. But Villar, along with several witnesses, clarified that it was a legitimate promotional activity for ALLTV2 Network, and she was simply invited as a guest.
Supporting affidavits and documents confirmed the timeline and the nature of the event — and clarified that the social media post about it, which sparked the controversy, was uploaded several days later, on February 16.
The committee, after evaluating all the evidence, decided there was not enough to warrant an election offense complaint or disqualification case.
Despite the scrutiny, Villar says she remains unfazed and committed to her mission.
“I remain focused on serving the people with integrity, commitment, and purpose,” she emphasized.
With the issue now behind her, it’s full steam ahead for Villar as she continues her senatorial campaign without the cloud of controversy hanging over her.
