After a 10-month break from competition, Filipino gymnastics star Carlos Yulo made a powerful return at the 2025 Asian Gymnastics Championships in South Korea—bringing home not just one, but four medals, including gold in floor exercise.
In a heartfelt post on social media, Yulo shared how this was his first competition since the Paris Olympics, and all he hoped for was to stay healthy, calm, and finish strong. But what he received, he says, was “more than what I prayed for.”
“馃FLOOR
馃ALL AROUND
馃VAULT
馃PARALLEL BARS”
Yulo’s gold on floor marks a spectacular highlight, but it’s his three bronze medals in the all-around, vault, and parallel bars that truly showcase his versatility and resilience as an elite gymnast.
“Bitbit ko ang lahat ng aral ng nakaraang mga taon sa pagbabalik na ito,” he wrote. “Sa pananampalataya, pasensya, at mga tamang taong nasa paligid ko, unti-unting nagagampanan ang lahat.”
The journey, as Yulo shared, wasn’t easy—physically or mentally. And behind his triumphant return was a strong support system he made sure to thank: Coach Aldrin, Coach Nedal, Ma’am Bethel, Kuya Josh, and the entire team who stood by him through the quieter, more difficult months.
Yulo also extended his gratitude to supporters who stayed with him even when he wasn’t on stage, saying, “Para sa lahat ng sumuporta kahit hindi ako nakikita sa entablado… sa Diyos ang lahat ng papuri.”
This return not only marks a successful competition but a renewed spirit and deeper love for gymnastics—something Yulo says he was able to feel once again on the mat. With these wins, he’s once again proven he’s not just back—he’s ready for more.
