Following the heavy downpour that struck Cagayan de Oro, several areas across the city experienced significant flooding, leading to traffic congestion and disrupted movement. In response, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD), together with the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA), immediately mobilized their teams for rescue operations, ensuring that affected residents receive timely assistance.

Working through the night, the teams coordinated closely to reach flooded areas, bringing stranded individuals to safety and clearing paths for emergency vehicles. Joining them in the effort was the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD), which began assessing the conditions of displaced families to determine their immediate needs and longer-term support.

One of the more affected areas was Barangay Camaman-an, where several families were forced to evacuate because of rising waters. These families are currently being sheltered at the Barangay Hall while relief efforts continue.

Authorities are urging the public to remain alert and avoid non-essential travel, especially in flood-prone areas. In case of emergencies, residents are reminded to call 911 immediately.
