In a political move that’s turning heads across the nation, the Duterte Youth Party-List just made history by filing the very first impeachment complaint against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Led by Duterte Youth Party-List Rep. Ronald Cardema and his wife, Marie Cardema of Calamba City, the complaint accuses Marcos Jr. of what they call a “betrayal of public trust.” Their main issue? The President allegedly allowed the transfer of a Filipino citizen—none other than former President Rodrigo Duterte—to foreign jurisdiction.

Yep, you read that right.

The Cardemas claim that Marcos Jr. is effectively handing over the former president to foreign entities, which they believe is a violation of the Constitution and Duterte’s rights as a Filipino citizen.

This bold move comes at a time when political tensions between the Duterte and Marcos camps seem to be intensifying.

As this story develops, all eyes will be on how Congress responds to the complaint and what kind of evidence the Cardemas bring forward. Will this gain traction—or get dismissed as political noise?
