Explosion Rocks Armscor Ammunition Plant In Marikina City; Several Injured

An explosion shook the Armscor Global Defense Inc. facility, a manufacturer of ammunition located in Barangay Fortune, Marikina City, on Monday afternoon, leaving several workers injured and prompting a swift emergency response.
According to Col. Fernandez of the Marikina police, the incident occurred at approximately 2:43 p.m. The Marikina Command Center (Rescue 161) reported receiving a call about the explosion just moments earlier, at 2:41 p.m., triggering the dispatch of ambulances and fire crews to the scene.
Upon arrival, first responders from Marikina Rescue 161 and the Bureau of Fire Protection immediately provided first aid to victims and rushed those with more serious injuries to the nearest hospital, Amang Rodriguez Medical Center.
As of this writing, the investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing. Authorities have yet to release details on the number and condition of those injured, but they assured the public that safety measures remain in place as the situation is brought under control.
In a statement, Marikina Rescue 161 emphasized that the release of information about the incident was made with respect to the privacy of those affected, in compliance with the Data Privacy Act. The office also reiterated that no malicious intent was involved in posting details and images of the incident.
