Eleven Filipino crew members of the bulk carrier M/V True Confidence were welcomed with immediate assistance upon their arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City last March 12, 2024.

The seafarers, who had been on board the vessel for an extended period, received vital support from various government agencies. The Department of Migrant Workers provided financial assistance amounting to P50,000, along with comprehensive reintegration support to aid their transition back to civilian life. Additionally, the Department of Health conducted medical and psychiatric assessments to ensure the crew's physical and mental well-being.

Recognizing the importance of sustainable livelihoods, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) extended further assistance by providing P20,000 in livelihood aid to each crew member. Moreover, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) offered scholarship and training vouchers, equipping the seafarers with valuable skills for future employment opportunities.
