Filipinos In Taiwan Receive Updates And Aid Following Powerful Quake

In the aftermath of the powerful earthquake that struck Taiwan yesterday, the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) provided an update on the condition of Filipinos in the affected area.

MECO chairman Silvestre Bello III stated that among the hundreds injured, only three Filipinos sustained minor injuries, with no reported fatalities among Filipinos. The injured individuals include OFWs Silvia Reyna and Arnol Gonzales, with one more unidentified Filipino.

Meanwhile, Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) officer-in-charge, Sec. Hans Leo Cacdac, detailed the injuries sustained by the affected Filipinos, including minor head injuries and fainting incidents.

Financial aid and assistance are being provided to those in need, with collaboration between DMW and MECO to ensure the affected individuals receive necessary support, including shelter.
