'I'm Stepping Down': Miss Grand International 2024 Rachel Gupta Breaks Her Silence After Shocking Title Termination

The Miss Grand International (MGI) Organization announced today, May 28, 2025, that they have terminated Rachel’s title effective immediately. According to the official statement, the decision came after Rachel allegedly failed to fulfill her duties, participated in outside projects without prior approval, and refused to join a scheduled trip to Guatemala. As a result, she’s been stripped of the crown and has 30 days to return it to the MGI head office. Oof.
But Rachel isn’t staying silent.
Shortly after the organization’s statement dropped, Rachel shared a heartfelt message of her own—revealing that she made the decision to step down, citing what she calls a “toxic environment” and “broken promises” since her crowning.
“Being crowned was one of the most cherished dreams of my life,” Rachel wrote. “However, the months following my crowning have been marked by mistreatment, and a toxic environment I can no longer endure in silence.”
She emphasized that this wasn’t a decision she made lightly and promised to tell her full side of the story in a video soon. Her tone was emotional, yet firm—clearly signaling that there’s more to this story than what’s in the press release.
And in a personal message to her fans, Rachel shared:
“Please know this wasn’t an easy decision, but it was the right one for me. The truth will come out very soon. I love you all more than words can express.”
