Important Reminder: No Saturday Classes For Basic Education - Beware Of Fake News
The Department of Education (DepEd) is reminding the public to remain vigilant against misinformation following the spread of a false social media post claiming that Saturday classes will be implemented for elementary to senior high school students starting July 5, 2025.

This claim is not true. There is no official directive from DepEd mandating Saturday classes for basic education levels. The circulating post is part of a growing trend of fake news that aims to mislead and create confusion among students, parents, and educators.

DepEd urges everyone to verify information before sharing it online. Misinformation not only causes unnecessary panic but also disrupts the learning environment and affects public trust.

For accurate and updated announcements, always refer to DepEd’s official social media accounts and website. These are the only authorized platforms where the department releases official statements and education-related updates.

Let us all work together to promote truthful and responsible information-sharing. When in doubt, check with official sources — and don’t let fake news go unchecked.

Stay informed. Stay alert.
