Following a water cannon attack on a Philippine supply vessel en route to Ayungin Shoal, numerous countries have rallied behind the Philippines, denouncing China's aggressive actions in the West Philippine Sea.

The European Union (EU) expressed deep concern over the incident, highlighting the dangerous provocation against Philippine vessels and calling for adherence to international rules to ensure peaceful resolution and regional stability.

US Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson affirmed the United States' support, condemning China's interference with Philippine freedom of navigation as a violation of international law and a threat to a free and open Indo-Pacific.

Ambassadors from the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, and France echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the need to respect international law, including the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), and urging all parties to uphold the 2016 arbitration award.

Canada and Australia also voiced their support for the Philippines, emphasizing the importance of a rules-based order and adherence to international law in the region.

A coalition of nations, including the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Italy, South Korea, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Romania, Spain, and Sweden, joined in backing the Philippines, underscoring the need for peace and stability in the South China Sea.
