Jordan Heading Steps Into The Spotlight; Fuels TNT's Grand Slam Quest In First Playoff Run

In his first PBA playoff appearance, Jordan Heading is making his presence felt—and then some.
Acquired in a late-elimination blockbuster trade that sent Mikey Williams to the other side, Heading has quickly found his rhythm with the TNT Tropang Giga. Despite joining a team deep into its campaign and riddled with injuries, the Fil-Australian guard has not only adapted seamlessly to the squad’s system and culture—he's become one of its most reliable performers in the postseason.
With TNT pushing through adversity in its pursuit of a rare grand slam, Heading has stepped into a vital role. Coming off a back spasm injury, he found his stride just in time, helping the Governors’ and Commissioner’s Cup champions dispatch Rain or Shine, 4-2, in the Philippine Cup Season 49 semifinals.
His standout moment came in Game 4, with key teammates Jayson Castro, Kelly Williams, Rey Nambatac, and RR Pogoy all sidelined and Calvin Oftana battling through double ankle sprains. Rising to the challenge, Heading dropped a team-high 23 points—draining three triples—along with five rebounds and six assists to lift TNT to a commanding 3-1 series lead.
Though TNT faltered in Game 5, Heading delivered his best performance in a Tropang Giga uniform in Game 6. With the finals berth on the line, he scored 29 points, including nine in the crucial fourth quarter, powering TNT to a 97-89 win and back to the finals.
For his efforts, Heading was named the PBA Press Corps-Pilipinas Live Player of the Week for July 2–6, edging out fellow standouts Calvin Oftana, Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, LA Tenorio, Scottie Thompson, and CJay Perez. Over the past three games, Heading has averaged 18.3 points, 4 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and a steal—production that reflects both poise and promise.
"I'm thankful to be in this position with these guys and to be learning from them," Heading shared. "They have the experience I don't have yet—winning all these championships. I'm just trying to learn, listen, and follow the boys who've already done it, and help out wherever I can."
In a high-stakes run toward history, TNT has found a timely reinforcement in Heading. And with each playoff game, he’s proving he belongs in the spotlight.
