Josh Mojica Breaks Silence After Porsche Incident: 'I'm Owning It, Not Excusing It'

On July 7, 2025, Josh Mojica—entrepreneur, content creator, and youth inspiration—issued a public statement addressing the recent viral video that showed him using a cellphone while driving a Porsche on the highway. The incident sparked criticism and prompted swift action from the Land Transportation Office (LTO), which has suspended his driver’s license for 90 days pending investigation.
In a candid and direct message to his followers, Mojica made no attempt to deflect responsibility. “I’m not here to play victim. I’m here to own it,” he said. Acknowledging his mistake, he admitted, “Yes, I was issued a Show Cause Order for using my phone while driving. No excuses. That was my mistake. I take full responsibility.”
The video, which captured Mojica recording a short clip from the driver’s seat of a Porsche, quickly spread online. In response, LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza II confirmed that the act was a clear violation of road safety laws, citing reckless driving and breaching the Anti-Distracted Driving Act among the charges.
Mojica offered insight into the moment behind the lens. “It was me, recording a quick selfie inside a Porsche. Not to show off but to lock in a moment I never thought I’d reach this early,” he explained. “That wasn’t just a car. It was a milestone.”
But he was clear in separating the achievement from the mistake. “Even in moments of celebration, we have to stay sharp. I slipped. I’m learning from it. And I’m owning it like a man.”
The statement particularly resonated with the younger segment of Mojica’s audience—many of whom look to him for guidance and motivation. He delivered a pointed message to them: “Don’t copy my mistake. Don’t copy the driving. Copy the mindset. Copy the grind. Copy the fact that I earned that car, not the way I held the phone inside it.”
While the LTO continues its investigation and has even placed the luxury vehicle under alarm, Mojica seems to be taking this as a moment for reflection and accountability. “This is a lesson in accountability. In growth,” he emphasized. “I’m not perfect, I’m just committed to being better than I was yesterday.”
For now, Mojica says he’s taking a step back—literally. “To everyone still riding with me, thank you. And don’t worry… for now, I’m sticking to the backseat.”
This incident highlights a growing conversation about influencer responsibility, particularly when social media and public safety intersect. Mojica’s words—while contrite—also reflect a broader challenge for public figures navigating the balance between personal expression and public accountability.
