'Let's Build Bridges, Not Burn Them': Chiz Escudero Backs President Marcos' Call To Set Aside Politics

Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero threw his full support behind President Bongbong Marcos’ call to hit pause on political squabbles and focus instead on what truly matters—the everyday struggles of the Filipino people.

“Sang-ayon ako sa panawagan ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos na isantabi ang pulitika at ituon ang pansin sa mga pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan,” Escudero said. And he didn’t mince words: our leaders can’t afford to get caught up in political drama while millions of Filipinos are working hard just to make ends meet.

Escudero also gave credit where it’s due, recognizing the President’s humility in acknowledging that the recent election results sent a clear message: the public is tired of political conflict and wants action, not theatrics.

He lauded the President for showing openness to reconciling with Vice President Sara Duterte and the Duterte family—proof, Escudero said, that the nation’s welfare must come before personal or partisan issues.

“Malinaw po ang mensahe ni Presidente: now is the time to build bridges, not burn them,” Escudero emphasized. “We owe it to our people to rise above division and do better—together—for the sake of our nation.”

In short, Chiz Escudero is saying: enough with the drama—let’s get to work.
