The Land Transportation Office (LTO), through its Intelligence and Investigation Division, held a formal hearing on the controversial bus racing incident involving GV Florida Transport, Inc. in Ilocos Sur. The session was led by LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II, who addressed mounting public concern over the reckless behavior caught on video along the Cagayan National Highway.

The June 8 footage, which quickly went viral, shows two or more GV Florida buses allegedly racing at high speeds, raising alarms about passenger safety and road discipline. Despite being summoned, the three bus drivers involved in the incident failed to appear at the LTO hearing—prompting immediate action from authorities.

In response, Asec. Mendoza ordered the company’s representative to submit the full and verified identities of all three drivers without delay.

“The safety of the public must never be compromised. Their absence in today’s hearing will not stop us from ensuring accountability,” Mendoza stated firmly during the proceedings.

The LTO is expected to issue a resolution within the day concerning the case, which may include the suspension or revocation of licenses, as well as penalties against the transport company. The agency reiterated that professional drivers have a duty to uphold the highest standards of safety and responsibility—particularly those transporting passengers over long distances.

GV Florida Transport, Inc. has yet to issue a public statement on the matter. Meanwhile, the LTO continues to urge transport operators to strictly monitor their personnel and ensure compliance with traffic laws at all times.
