Magnitude 6 Earthquake Rattles Northeastern Japan, No Tsunami Warning Issued

An earthquake registering a preliminary magnitude of 6.0 struck northeastern Japan Thursday noon, according to the country's weather agency.

The quake's epicenter was situated off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture, approximately 40 kilometers underground.

Despite the significant tremors, authorities did not issue a tsunami warning, and there were no reported abnormalities confirmed in the aftermath.
