Marcos Slides, Duterte Gains In Latest SWS Trust Survey

Public trust in the Philippines’ top leaders shows a clear divide, according to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey conducted from November 24 to 30, 2025.

The poll revealed that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. saw his net trust rating drop to -3%, down from 7% in October 2025. About 38% of respondents expressed “much trust” in the President, while 41% said they have little trust in him.

In contrast, Vice President Sara Duterte’s trust ratings improved. She recorded a 56% “much trust” score versus 26% expressing little trust, giving her a net trust rating of 31%, up from 25% in October.

Analysts suggest these shifts may be influenced by ongoing government investigations into alleged anomalous flood control projects, which have drawn public attention to issues of accountability and governance.

The SWS survey provides a snapshot of how Filipinos currently view their leaders, showing that while confidence in Duterte is on the rise, trust in Marcos has softened as the year draws to a close.
