MMDA Suspends Number Coding During Holiday Season
FILE
Metro Manila, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has announced the suspension of the expanded number coding scheme during the upcoming holiday season. The suspension will take effect from December 23 to 25, 2025, and again from December 29, 2025 to January 2, 2026.
Number coding is automatically suspended on all regular and special non-working holidays, giving motorists more flexibility during peak travel days. The December 29 and January 2 suspension coincides with government-declared non-working days under Memorandum Circular No. 111 of the Office of the President, which closes all government offices to allow employees to celebrate the New Year.
The MMDA reminded motorists to plan their trips carefully, follow traffic rules, and drive safely wherever their holiday travels take them.
