Mpox Alert: 3 Cases Confirmed In Sultan Kudarat - Here's What You Need To Know
FILE
The Provincial Health Office of Sultan Kudarat just confirmed three cases of Mpox (Monkeypox)
in the province as of May 22, 2025
— and here’s the scoop.
Where Were the Cases Found?
The first confirmed case came from Bagumbayan, while the other two were recorded in Tacurong City. All patients were immediately informed and are now recovering in home isolation. Thankfully, they’ve been cooperating fully with local health teams doing contact tracing.
What About Close Contacts?
Good news — close contacts have already been identified and educated. They’re currently under self-isolation and monitoring for symptoms, but so far, none have shown signs of infection.
What Should You Do?
If you’re feeling under the weather or showing symptoms, don’t wait. Call your Municipal or City Health Office right away and self-isolate. Even if you feel okay, it’s still a good time to:
• Keep washing those hands
• Wear masks in crowded places
• Avoid skin-to-skin contact if someone’s feeling ill
• Stay informed through official health sources
What’s the Government Doing?
Local health offices, with support from the Department of Health - Center for Health Development SOCCSKSARGEN, are on high alert. Surveillance has been ramped up and all necessary precautions are in place to keep the situation contained.
Final Reminder
There’s no need to panic — but do stay cautious. With everyone’s cooperation, we can stop the spread and keep our communities safe. Let’s keep each other protected by being responsible and informed.
