Nearly 20 LGUs In The Country Declared Under State Of Calamity Due to #ElNino2024

In response to the worsening effects of El Niño 2024, nearly 20 Local Government Units (LGUs) across the nation have been officially placed under a State of Calamity. Among the affected regions are 11 areas in Occidental Mindoro, Bulalacao, Mansalay, and San Vicente in Oriental Mindoro, San Andres in Palawan, Romblon, Mayoayao in Ifugao, Sibalom in Antique, and Zamboanga City.
To alleviate the suffering of farmers and their families, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s administration has distributed a staggering P1.1 billion worth of assistance. This aid includes financial support, food packs, and agricultural equipment, providing much-needed relief to those affected by the drought crisis.
