Meanwhile, in a surprise move that’s catching attention, former Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Darlene Berberabe has been named the new Solicitor General of the Philippines. The confirmation came directly from her predecessor Menardo Guevarra.

“I am happy for Darlene Berberabe. As a top-caliber lawyer with an impressive management background, she will surely do well as Solicitor General,” Guevarra said in a statement to reporters.

Berberabe’s background in both law and public service, especially during her time with Pag-IBIG, makes her a strong choice for the role. Her new post will involve representing the government in important legal cases—something that demands both legal skill and leadership.
