Residents of District 5, Quezon City have a new space to unwind as the once-cemented plaza along Quirino Highway and Buenamar Drive has officially been transformed into the vibrant and refreshing Nova Park.

The area, which previously served as a plain open concrete space, now features a split-level park designed for relaxation, recreation, and community gatherings. The new park includes a multi-purpose area, elevated walkway, landscaped lawns, bike racks, accessible ramps, and permeable ground surfaces meant to help manage rainwater.

One of its standout features is its sculptural relief walls honoring Novaliches’ historic role in the Katipunan uprising. Through these installations, the park highlights the district’s contribution to the fight for independence, aligning with its goal of becoming part of a larger city-wide heritage trail.

City officials hope families, bikers, and casual visitors will embrace Nova Park as a new green refuge in the bustling district.

With its thoughtful design and historical touches, Nova Park is expected to become a regular stop for locals looking for open space, culture, and fresh air right in the heart of District 5.
