Philippine National Police Promotes Over 49,000 Personnel

The Philippine National Police (PNP) celebrated the promotion of 49,125 PNP personnel under the CY 2023 Regular Promotion and 1st Quarter CY 2024 PLTCOL Continuous Promotion Program. In a ceremony presided over by Chief PNP, Police General Benjamin C Acorda Jr, 2,027 newly-promoted NHQ-based personnel were formally inducted at the National Headquarters in Camp Crame.

The promotions span various ranks, with 161 rising to Police Lieutenant Colonel (PLTCOL), 467 to Police Major (PMAJ), and others across different ranks, reflecting the dedication of officers in serving the Filipino people.

Similar promotion ceremonies were conducted nationwide in all 17 Police Regional Offices and Police Provincial Offices, emphasizing the commitment to excellence across the organization.

Chief PNP, in his address, stressed the core values of accountability, leadership, and dedication to public service. He highlighted the importance of upholding integrity and professionalism while prioritizing community safety.

Reiterating the PNP's support for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr's vision for a Bagong Pilipinas, Chief PNP emphasized the organization's mandate to uphold the rule of law and promote public safety.

Moving forward, Chief PNP urged officers to uphold principles of good governance, transparency, and accountability, emphasizing their role as agents of change in advancing the president's reform agenda.

The regular promotion program ensures a streamlined rank structure for the entire 232,000-strong police force, aligning with the approved staffing pattern by the National Police Commission.
