President Marcos Inspects Amandayehan Port To Ease Traffic From San Juanico Bridge

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. personally visited Amandayehan Port in Samar as part of efforts to address the growing congestion around the San Juanico Bridge area. The bridge, a vital link between Samar and Leyte, has been experiencing heavy traffic due to the limited flow of goods and vehicles—a situation the government is now actively working to resolve.

During his inspection, the President ordered the continuation of clearing operations and the swift completion of additional roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) ramps. These upgrades aim to accommodate more trucks and vehicles boarding the ferries, ultimately easing the burden on the bridge and providing an alternative transport route.

To further enhance port operations and ensure maritime safety, President Marcos also directed the installation of navigation aids this June. These include essential equipment such as lights, markers, and buoys that will guide vessels safely within the port area, especially during low visibility conditions.

The President’s proactive involvement underscores the administration’s commitment to improving regional connectivity and supporting economic activity by upgrading critical transport infrastructure.
