The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) closed lower on December 1, 2025, ending the day at 5,989.29, down 32.95 points or 0.55%. The market felt the pressure from heavier foreign selling, signaling caution among investors.

The total trading value for the day reached PHP 6.4 billion, with 99 stocks advancing, 97 declining, and 65 remaining unchanged.

Foreign investors were net sellers, purchasing Php 2.39 billion worth of shares while selling Php 4.26 billion, resulting in a net foreign outflow of Php 1.87 billion.

The market’s movement reflects continued sensitivity to global cues and local economic factors. Analysts note that net foreign selling has been a consistent theme in recent sessions, weighing on overall market sentiment.

Investors will be keeping a close eye on upcoming corporate earnings reports and policy developments as the year comes to a close, which could influence market direction heading into December.
