The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) ended the trading session on December 29, 2025 slightly lower, slipping 12.72 points or 0.21 percent to close at 6,052.92, as investor sentiment softened toward the end of the year.
Despite the dip, market activity remained steady with total value turnover reaching PHP 4.2 billion. Market breadth was mixed, with 139 stocks advancing, 75 declining, and 56 finishing unchanged, indicating selective buying across sectors.
Foreign investors were net sellers during the session. Foreign buying amounted to PHP 1.93 billion, while foreign selling reached PHP 2.09 billion, resulting in net foreign selling of PHP 168.74 million.
The modest pullback reflects cautious positioning by investors amid year-end trading, as market participants weigh global cues and prepare for the new trading year.
