Quezon Police Chief Personally Leads Probe On Drunken Cop's Threatening Incident: 'We Will Never Tolerate Wrongdoing'

In light of the alarming incident on July 12, 2025, where a police officer was involved in threatening civilians with a firearm, issuing shooting threats, and even discharging his weapon while reportedly under the influence of alcohol, Quezon Police Provincial Office Acting Director PCOL Romulo A. Albacea wasted no time in taking decisive action.
Determined to uphold accountability within the ranks, PCOL Albacea personally led the investigation to ensure that the officer in question would face the full weight of the law and that no wrongdoing would ever be condoned under his leadership.
According to the report, PCOL Albacea immediately met with those involved in the incident and ordered a thorough and impartial investigation. He also directed the prompt filing of appropriate criminal and administrative charges. The officer is now in detention at the Lucena City Component Police Station while authorities prepare the necessary cases against him.
In a statement, PCOL Albacea emphasized his firm stance on integrity and discipline within the police force.
“We will never tolerate wrongdoing from anyone in our ranks. While we continue to strengthen the morale and integrity of the Quezon PPO, I will ensure that anyone who violates the law and the public’s trust will be held accountable and face the consequences,” he said.
He further underscored that the Quezon PPO remains steadfast in promoting discipline, transparency, and maintaining the public’s confidence through internal cleansing and swift action against erring members.
“We will remain strong in enforcing discipline and internal reforms to protect the integrity of our organization and the trust of the people we serve,” he added.
