A low-pressure area (LPA) and the southwest monsoon are once again bringing wet weather to many parts of the Philippines, according to the 24-hour public weather forecast issued by PAGASA at 4:00 PM today, June 6, 2025.

As of 3:00 PM, the LPA was located 340 kilometers east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes. Although it remains outside the Philippine landmass, its trough is already influencing weather conditions in several regions.

Metro Manila, along with Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, the Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, and SOCCSKSARGEN, can expect cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon. PAGASA warns that these rains could be moderate to heavy at times, increasing the risk of flash floods and landslides, particularly in low-lying and mountainous areas.

Meanwhile, Quezon province, the Bicol Region, and the rest of the Visayas and Mindanao are also experiencing cloudy skies and scattered rains, this time caused by the trough of the LPA. Similar warnings for flash floods and landslides apply, especially where rain becomes heavy.

For the rest of Luzon, including areas not directly affected by the LPA or monsoon flow, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected. Though less widespread, intense thunderstorms could still trigger localized flooding or landslides.

Residents in affected areas are advised to stay alert for possible weather advisories and take necessary precautions, particularly in flood- and landslide-prone communities.
