Filipina sambist Aislinn Agnes Yap delivered another proud moment for the country after clinching a bronze medal in the Women’s Combat -80kg event at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China.

Yap, the current world No. 1 in her weight division, sealed the podium finish with a decisive 3–1 victory over Costa Rica’s Nicole Castro in her second and final match. The win not only underscored her dominance in the sport but also showcased her composure and skill on the world stage.

This bronze marks the Philippines’ second medal in the 2025 World Games, adding to the nation’s growing achievements in international competition.
