Senator Alan Peter Cayetano isn’t here for the political noise—he’s here to set the record straight on due process. During a Senate Committee on Foreign Relations hearing on Thursday, Cayetano made it clear that legal rights apply to everyone, whether you’re an ordinary citizen or a former president.
“We’re trying to get to the bottom of the confusion to make sure we respect our Constitution and everyone’s right is protected,” he said. “The duty of the Constitution is that everyone should be given due process.”
His remarks come at a time of heightened political tension, where speculation and partisanship often dominate the conversation. But for Cayetano, the focus should be on upholding legal principles, not taking sides. He stressed that due process isn’t about favoring anyone—it’s about reinforcing the country’s justice system.
At the end of the day, Cayetano’s message is simple: let’s not lose sight of the law in the middle of all the noise.
