Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala defeated Chinese player Jia-Jing Lu, 6-4, 6-1, in their quarterfinals match, securing a spot in the Jingshan Tennis Open semifinals.
Eala showed her resilience early on after Lu, a 35-year-old ranked 349th in the world, jumped to a 4-2 lead in the first set. The young Filipina bounced back, breaking serve twice and winning four straight games to take the opener 6-4.
From there, Eala dominated the second set, leaving her opponent struggling and cruising to a 6-1 finish. With this win, she maintains her perfect streak, yet to drop a set in her first meet of the Asian swing, and continues to build momentum in this WTA 125 tournament.
