Senate PH FILE
Former Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo has been dealt the toughest blow yet, after the Pasig Regional Trial Court found her guilty of qualified human trafficking and sentenced her to reclusion perpetua, or up to 40 years in prison.
The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) confirmed the ruling on Thursday, November 20, calling it a major step forward in the country’s fight against trafficking and organized crime.
Guo wasn’t alone in the verdict. The court also convicted Rachelle Malonzo Carreon, Jaimielyn Cruz, and Walter Wong Rong, giving each of them the same life sentence. On top of that, all four were ordered to pay ₱2 million in fines.
