Speaker Martin Romualdez is making big moves ahead of the 2025 midterm elections.

On Tuesday, the Lakas-CMD party president rallied his entire political army nationwide to throw their full support behind the 11 candidates of the pro-administration slate, Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas.

Speaking at a powerhouse breakfast gathering at Imelda Hall in Malacañang, packed with governors, lawmakers, and mayors from all corners of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, Romualdez made a passionate call to action: “Please lang, straight Alyansa tayo. Walang iwanan dito!” he told the crowd.

He emphasized that this isn’t just another campaign—it’s about making sure President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s reform agenda gets the backing it needs in the Senate.

“These candidates are tested and proven. Hindi tayo mapapahiya sa taong-bayan. They are our true partners for peace, progress, and prosperity,” Romualdez said, as he urged everyone to go all-out in supporting the Alyansa lineup.

Before the speeches kicked off, party members held a moment of silence for the late Pope Francis, setting a solemn tone before diving into campaign mode.

Among the officials showing full support were House Majority Leader Mannix Dalipe, Agusan del Norte Rep. Joboy Aquino II, Senior Deputy Speaker Dong Gonzales, Deputy Speaker Jay-Jay Suarez, and a long list of provincial governors like Fred Castro (Aklan), Pax Ali Mangudadatu (Sultan Kudarat), Alonto Adiong (Lanao del Sur), and more.

Romualdez didn’t mince words about the importance of unity, either.

“The victory of Alyansa is the victory of the people,” he stressed. “People are tired of the noise and political drama. They want action, not distractions. And that’s what Alyansa stands for.”

He also threw a few pointed remarks at critics, saying, “Let them throw mud. We’ll build roads, schools, hospitals, and jobs. The people know who’s delivering real results.”

The Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas slate features a star-studded lineup of seasoned leaders and icons:

• Benhur Abalos (PFP)
• Abby Binay (NPC)
• Pia Cayetano (NP)
• Lito Lapid (NPC)
• Ping Lacson (Independent)
• Manny Pacquiao (Independent)
• Bong Revilla (Lakas-CMD)
• Tito Sotto (NPC)
• Francis Tolentino (PFP)
• Erwin Tulfo (Lakas-CMD)
• Camille Villar (NP) (Villar was the only one absent at the event.)

Romualdez said this group was handpicked to work with the administration—not against it.

“We’re choosing leaders who build, not break; who legislate, not obstruct; who offer solutions, not slogans,” he said.

With Lakas-CMD’s political machinery—the biggest in the country today—Speaker Romualdez is confident. According to party data, over 6,000 candidates will be running under the Lakas-CMD banner in 2025, from senators down to councilors.

“This isn’t just politics—it’s a mission. Sama-sama tayong babangon at susulong!” Romualdez ended with a rousing call.
