Archers Rule UAAP Season 88

The De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Archers have reclaimed the UAAP Season 88 men’s basketball championship, defeating the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons in a winner‑take‑all Game 3 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
La Salle closed out the finals series with an 80–72 victory in Game 3, completing a 2–1 series win and securing the championship. Mike Phillips capped off his UAAP career with a dominant performance, earning Finals MVP honors after scoring 25 points and grabbing 18 rebounds.
In the earlier games of the finals series, La Salle won Game 1, 74–70, behind clutch shooting, while UP answered in Game 2 with a 66–63 victory, forcing the decisive Game 3.
The UP Fighting Maroons finished as runners‑up after another strong season. The Green Archers’ championship run was highlighted by resilience and clutch performances in close games throughout the finals.
