The Philippine Army announced on October 22, 2025, that Cavite 4th District Representative Kiko Barzaga has been delisted from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Reserve Force, effective September 21, 2025.
According to Army spokesperson Col. Louie Dema-Ala, the decision followed a review conducted under AFP Standard Operating Procedure No. 7, which covers conduct deemed equivalent to grave offenses. The Army cited Barzaga’s social media posts on September 21, which included a photo of him in military uniform alongside statements that allegedly insinuated sedition and suggested military or reservist participation in anti-government protest.
Under the delisting, Barzaga loses his status as a member of the AFP Reserve Force and is no longer authorized to wear the military uniform under any circumstance. He is also barred from being commissioned into the AFP Regular or Reserve Force in the future.
The Army emphasized that the administrative action does not constitute a criminal conviction and clarified that the decision does not reflect on Barzaga’s personal character or public service record.
No further specifics on additional offenses have been publicly released beyond the cited social media conduct. The Army said the measure underscores its commitment to discipline, integrity, and non-partisanship.
